Danish Corporate Clusters


Danish trade and industry a group of companies achieve international distinction by having certain competences and strengths. These are the so-called competence clusters.

The competence clusters are Denmark's corporate 'spearheads', i.e. those business areas that create high growth of value and employment and that perform well on international markets. For example, Danish pork producers export for DKK 20 billion annually, which makes Denmark the worlds biggest exporter of pork.
But there are other values aswell as clusters are either anchored nationally or regionally.
Telecommunications
Denmark is a prominent player in several fields of IT and telecommunications
Business tourism
After manufacturing and agriculture, tourism is Denmark's most important industry
Stainless steel
Southern Jutland has a long tradition for stainless steel manufacturing
Gardening
52% of the total Danish gardening export comes from the island of Funen
Medico industry
Denmark's international biotechnological research environment in the Øresund region is also known as "Medicon Valley"
Textiles
Textiles and clothing is one of Denmark's biggest export industries
Offshore industry
Growth in the offshore industry is expected over the next few years
Furniture industry
Design is a central feature of the Danish furniture industry
Transport
About one fifth of the total Danish export comes from the area of transport
